New gondola lift in Nendaz - 4 Vallées ski area

The Nendaz-Veysonnaz mountain railways are making a brilliant start to the coming winter season. The new eight-seater gondola lift between Plan du Fou and Prarion increases the transport capacity from 800 people per hour to 2,400. Thanks to this new gondola lift, pedestrians can reach Haute-Nendaz from Siviez without walking along the road. There is also a new direct connection to Nendaz-Mont-Fort. In addition, the company is equipping all slopes between Combatseline and Thyon 2000 with a state-of-the-art snowmaking system. This guarantees snow sports from November to April in the future.

Florian Bouvet-Fournier from Valais will certainly be pleased about this. The passionate freerider settled in Nendaz two years ago and has opened a photo and film studio. Check out our portrait article on him.

The new Swisspeak Resort in Zinal - a new holiday experience

Like all Swisspeak Resorts, the new building in Zinal also features plenty of wood and stone. Matching the style of the region, it is set in the middle of the idyllic mountain village of Val d'Anniviers. The location alone is impressive. And the panoramic mountain view you can enjoy from the cosy apartments is truly magnificent. In addition, the gondola lift to the ski area, restaurants, bars and shopping facilities are within easy walking distance. Added bonuses include snow-sure pistes up to 2,900 m above sea level, a connection to the Grimentz ski area with a total of 115 km of pistes and a freeride paradise. In a nutshell, the Swisspeak Resort offers you a whole new holiday experience.

Fancy an overnight stay at the new Swisspeak Resort? The group media trip titled "A slightly different winter in Valais" makes a stopover there. This media trip also offers you the opportunity to explore a glacier grotto, enjoy an introduction to ice climbing and curling, do some snowshoe hiking and taste local specialities such as Fondue Anniviarde and Raclette. We look forward to hearing from you if you are interested in taking part.

Truly a project of the century

August 18th 2019 – a historic day in the Aletsch Arena. On that particular Sunday, the Fiesch – Fiescheralp large cable car whisked passengers from the mountain to the valley and back for the last time in 45 years. As of next December it will be replaced by a state-of-the-art ten-seater gondola lift. Operating at a speed of seven metres per second, it is the fastest of its kind in Switzerland. Nevertheless, it is just one part of the overall current projet of the century being undertaken by Aletsch Bahnen AG, which, together with the Matterhorn Gotthard Railway and the municipality of Fiesch, has created the new public transport hub. At 45 million Swiss francs, this is a huge endeavour. The building also includes the new station of the MGBahn and a new bus terminal. It focuses on safety, guest comfort and site development for third-party use. And as far as comfort and convenience are concerned, all facilities in the new public transport hub are barrier-free.

Would you like to take part in one of the first rides in the new gondola lift? From December 6th to 9th 2019, we are organising a group media trip to the Aletsch Arena and Crans-Montana. In addition to the new public transport hub, you can enjoy a beer dinner, take in the panorama from View Point Bettmerhorn and experience the magic of the Lantern Trail as well as the delicacies of the Gourmet Market at the Etoile Bella Lui festival in Crans-Montana.

New visitor area in La Cavagne store

Do you enjoy discovering local produce? Preferably directly from the producer? If so, La Cavagne in Troistorrents and Champéry – in the Dents du Midi region – is definitely the place for you. It is a central sales hub for products – food and crafts – from the region. After more than 10 years of existence, a new element has been added in the Champéry branch, where a new visitor area and a wine cellar have been opened. A visit is therefore worthwhile in many respects.
