Randa was the first tourist destination in the Zermatt-Matterhorn region. It draws primarily nature lovers who enjoy its peace and quiet, but who wish to take advantage of the nearby world-class spa resort.

Randa is ideal for a summer mountain getaway with lots of hiking or golf, or as a winter destination to the Matterhorn cross-country ski trails. And it is close to the natural ice rink and a beginner’s lift where children can cut their teeth on the slopes. For those who prefer to carve down the highest ski pistes in the Alps, Zermatt and the Matterhorn-Gotthard-Train is only 15 minutes away and open year-round.

The Charles Kuonen suspension footbridge

At a length of 494 metres, this is quite simply the longest pedestrian footbridge in the Alps. It lies on the Europaweg, a 2-day hiking trail between Grächen and Zermatt. You can reach the bridge more easily from Randa in a hike of 2 hours.
