Located in the village of Morgins, this ski lift is ideal for beginners – both children and adults. Before exploring the large Portes du Soleil ski area, you can learn new skiing skills or polish your technique there. With the rope tow, the ideal gradient and the help of skiing students from the Swiss Ski and Snowboard School, it doesn’t take long for progress to become apparent. The restaurant at the sports centre invites you to watch, warm up and replenish your energy.

The Rando-Parc powered by Movement Skis was set up in Morgins in the Portes du Soleil area. The “touring tracks” are aimed at ski tourers of all abilities, with one black, two blue and three red trails. The tours take between 1 hour 30 minutes and 2 hours 45 minutes, with an average altitude difference of 600m. This specially enclosed area is the ideal place for an introduction to ski touring.

Curdling, cutting the curd, draining and shaping – discover the various stages of cheesemaking at Tovassière cheese dairy at Sassex mountain pasture. After visiting the cheese cellar where the wheels are matured, you can enjoy tasting the dairy’s various products.

You’ll have to climb high above Morgins into the heart of a wild valley to reach the hundred-year-old alpine pasture of La Tovassière, which takes its name from a type of grey rock found in the area. It offers up delicious regional cuisine, mainly consisting of local cheeses, which you can sample to the accompaniment of a country orchestra that plays there every Sunday. On request, you can also learn the secrets of how cheese is made and sample it in all its forms.

The Pass'Portes du Soleil MTB is a concentrate of strong sensations, wonder, shared sporting moments and good humour... A mountain bike ride in France and Switzerland, discovering the fabulous Moutain Bike area of the Portes du Soleil and its grandiose landscapes, interspersed with gourmet stops. 

From 27 to 29 October 2023, the Dents du Midi Region will host a totally new event in the village of Morgins: the Raclette World Championships. The World Championships will not only be a cheese competition, but also a festive and convivial weekend around the emblematic Valais dish!

The unusual pop-rock festival is back to shake up the powder in the Portes du Soleil! Since 2011, Rock The Pistes has been welcoming the biggest names on the Franco-Swiss and international pop-rock scene for exceptional concerts in the ski area. 5 concerts with headliners in the middle of the day at the top of the ski runs, accessible by ski lift only!

The “Goûts du Terroir au Fil de l’Eau” (Local Flavours Along the River) Society invites you to discover the natural and culinary riches of Morgins, whilst enjoying the pleasures of a mountain hike. Following the They Valley, you will taste the specialities from the Morgins and Val D’Illiez mountain farms, accompanied by wines carefully selected by our Valais vintners. Two trails are possible, depending on if you are “small foodie” or prefer “the works”.
