The Heida wine village of Visperterminen lies high above the entrance to the Visp valley. Heida is the Valais name for the white wine made of the Savagnin grape. The vineyards grow on short terraces with dry stone walls that collect the heat, rising from Visperterminen to over 1100m. They are thus the highest vineyards in Europe.

Visitors interested in viniculture can hike along the informative vineyard trail and visit local wine cellars. Those preferring greater elevations can find hikes with spectacular views. Or take the kids up the mountain station chair lift to 2000m for a day in the snow.
