The chairlift takes you from Jeizinen to the winter wonderland of Üflänge at 1700 metres above sea level. Surrounded by a beautiful panorama, the two lifts in the Kids’ Paradise are just the right place to learn to ski. Practice makes perfect, and as soon as it gets boring on the pony lift, there’s a platter lift waiting close by. The children can use this without help and improve their skills further.

According to oral tradition, the carnival antics in Bratsch, Erschmatt and Niedergampel (“Gnooggär mountains”) go back to the early 19th century. Back then, people wore their clothes inside out, covered their faces with grease, soot or white flour and hung themselves with sheep bells or smaller cow bells. The half masks, the furs and the inside-out drill skirts adorned with scraps of fabric were added in the 1940s. Several “Füüdini” from Bratsch and Erschmatt first took part in a carnival procession together in 1970. Since then, the “Gnooggärfüüdini” have been involved in various processions each year as an official group.

Jeizinen / Feselalpe is a secret destination for all nature lovers: compared with the bigger ski resorts in Valais, the Jeizinen ski resort is idyllic, perfect for those who savour a pristine landscape far from the hustle and bustle of the larger locales. The cable car takes you comfortably from Jeizinen to the "Üflänge". From there the large ski lift takes you up to the upper Feselalpe. Overall, the resort has one chairlift, two ski lifts and two rope tows. The sun terraces of the "Üflänge" and "Trächuhittu" restaurants offer spectacular mountain views to the 4000-metre peaks of the Valais and the snow bar on the" Üflänge" is the ideal place for a quick pit stop.

In 2005, the Commune of Niedergesteln built a suspension bridge and a metal stairway to provide an access route that is dry underfoot in order to descend below the roaring waters of the Jolibach stream to the Stägeru’s water intake at 900 m. Part of the Stägeru was channelled into the Lüegjeru, because its former intake fell victim to a storm. Reports of the Stägeru date back to 1552 and the Lüegjer was probably constructed in the 17th century.

Every year 100,000 spectators celebrate “across the Lötschberg” on the Valais valley during the third August weekend. “Gampel” is thus one of the largest Swiss open air events. Hundreds of rockstars are thrilled with the wonderful setting and say that the festival is one of the most beautiful in Europe. They speak the truth, for every year many thousands of visitors chant: “once Gampel, always Gampel”, returning to the late-summer festival for a brief vacation with guaranteed fun and awesome sound!
