The Tschägättä (masked carnival characters of Lötschental) do not usually gather in groups and are not part of traditional carnival parades. Every evening during the carnival period, these harsh personages storm into the valley, frightening all those who still have the recklessness to find themselves on the street at that time. The Tschäggäta's traditional parade and the Lötschental's main carnival parade are the only two opportunities to observe them in groups. A unique carnival tradition not to be missed!
