Valais Tourism is an association pursuant to Article 60 of the Swiss Civil Code, founded with the aim of promoting tourism in the Canton of Valais. As the umbrella organisation and according to the law on tourism of 9th February 1996, it is the canton's advisory body on tourist affairs.

The aim of the tourism policy in Valais, based on the principles laid out in the "Charter for Sustainable Development" approved by the Grand Counsel, is to develop quality tourism in the canton, according to the will of the legislator defined in the law on tourism.
